About
This site has 3 parts:
- first the list of artists in the right bar. Each one has a page with basic info – where they’re from, what languages they rap in, websites, and a discography.
- Secondly, a set of forums where anyone can post info and videos or discuss any other topics.
- Third, a video news feed where I’ll post music videos from explicitly anarchist artists and musicians. I can’t garauntee regular updates, but I’ll post ‘em as I find ‘em. and if you know a good one that isn’t there, leave it in the forums and I’ll post it up front.
When I dropped my first album in 2001 i was – as far as i knew – the only anarchist hip hop artist on the planet. I’m sure there were others, i just didn’t have any way to find them.
Things have changed a bit since then, the technology has grown and changed and musicians have had to adapt to that. For corporate musicians it’s been mostly bad, but for folks like us who aren’t in it just for the money and are interested in getting our music out to people all over the place, it’s been a great few years. But up until now there’s never been an effort (that I know of) to bring together the music of anarchist hip hop artists from around the world in one place where they’re easy to find.
The site’s gonna start out with my favorite anarchist hip hop artists, people i’ve run into over the years and who’ve contacted me and whose music I like and who have a solid message. From there I’ll be adding artists as I find them. So if you know somebody who should be listed on here but isn’t post their info up in the forums and i’ll check ‘em out. The forums are also a great place to connect with other folks, post your lyrics, make connections, build solidarity, and build the movement. It’s not just about dope music after all, it’s about the message, the movement, and the revolution we’re all working towards.
